Target Hunger 2020 Gala
February 21, 2020 @ 6:00PM — 10:00PM Eastern Time (US & Canada)
Founded in 1989, Target Hunger is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to alleviate hunger and its root causes in vulnerable northeast Houston neighborhoods. At that time, the agency’s focus was addressing hunger in Houston’s historic Fifth Ward. Today, Target Hunger is one of Houston’s largest organizations providing food assistance to people in need, distributing four million pounds of food annually in more than 100 zip codes. With a strong history of providing services through food pantries, educational food fairs, a senior delivery program and a community garden, and the new integration of mobile food distributions, partnership-based programming, and navigation services, Target Hunger is a leader in Houston’s fight against hunger and food insecurity.

Target Hunger will celebrate all who make our work possible at our upcoming annual gala. You are invited to join dedicated partners, donors, volunteers and friends on Friday, February 21, 2020 at The Junior League of Houston for an evening of reflection, celebration and fun. The community-minded and very lovely Deborah Duncan, host of KHOU-11’s Great Day Houston will serve as our Mistress of Ceremonies. Slalom, an international business and technology consulting firm whose Houston office has demonstrated outstanding commitment to advancing Target Hunger’s mission will be honored with the organization’s Mary Pappas Award for Exemplary Service to Target Hunger. This award honors the commitment to fighting hunger in our community.
